Universal design program aims to make socially responsible design standard practice
The University at Buffalo’s IDEA Center launched isUD™, a certification program promoting universal design in architecture. It provides over 500 design solutions to help stakeholders create accessible environments. An automated scoring system tracks progress, and certified buildings receive recognition. The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh’s “MuseumLab” was the first test case, demonstrating the program’s impact.
